I've replaced my HP6000 series printer with a new 8120e printer.  I still have ink supplies left for my old printer, but because I've cancelled my instant ink contract for the old printer HP Smart is blocking that machine from working and keep telling me the (correct) PIN I enter is invalid.  Why are HP doing that?  It's my machine and my choice whether I remain enrolled in Instant Ink.

Once you cancel your instant ink subscription, all ink cartridges you received within the subscription period including the one in the printer stop working.

In the instant ink plan, you are paying monthly for printed pages, not for ink, ink is free, and when you cancel the subscription free ink cartridge can't be used anymore.
