I have done everything I know to do and the printer will not print and the ap on the computer is telling me that there is no paper in the printer, but there is.

I updated my computer OS

I have updated the printer program.

It have checked connection between the computer to the printer.

Hi @HHirst ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're dealing with a frustrating issue! Since the printer is still not recognizing paper despite being loaded, and the app is showing that there's no paper, here are some steps that might help:

Check the Paper Tray Sensor: Sometimes, the printer's paper tray sensor can get blocked or malfunction, causing it to incorrectly report that the tray is empty. Try gently cleaning the area around the paper tray or removing and reinserting the paper to ensure it's properly aligned.

Restart the Print Spooler:

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on your printer and select Reset Printing System.
  • Add the printer again and try printing.

Check for Paper Jams: Even if you don't see any obvious jams, it's worth checking the printer's feed mechanism for any small bits of paper stuck inside. Sometimes a tiny piece can cause issues.

Try a Different Cable or Connection: If you're using a wired connection, try a different USB cable. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer and computer are on the same network.

Reinstall Printer Drivers: Even though you updated the printer program, there may be a conflict or a corrupt driver. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers from the HP website or the support page.

Printer Reset: Some models have a hard reset option, either through the printer settings or by holding down specific buttons.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
