I bought a new black ink cartridge and I am trying to print in black and white, but the printer says my cartridges are depleted. Why do I need color cartridges to print in black and white?

Hi,

in some printers you may print with black ink cartridge only, in some models all ink cartridges must have ink to allow printing as the ink system require ink to maintain and keep its health and avoid damage to the printing system:
