Hi @Mcl22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer shows that it is connected to Wi-Fi but not connected to the network, it typically means that while the printer is linked to your wireless network, it is not properly communicating with other devices on the same network, or there is a problem with network settings. Here’s how to address and resolve this issue:

1. Verify Network Configuration

Check Printer IP Address:

  • Print a Network Configuration or Printer Information page from your printer’s control panel. This will show the IP address assigned to your printer.
  • Ensure the IP address is within the range of your new network.

Check Router Settings:

  • Log into your router’s admin interface and check for settings related to IP address assignments and make sure there are no conflicts or restrictions.

2. Reconnect Printer to Network

Reconnect Using Printer’s Control Panel:

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Network settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard or similar option.
  • Follow the prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Reconnect Using HP Smart App:

  • Download HP Smart: Install the HP Smart app on your iPhone or computer if you haven’t already.
  • Add Printer: Open the app, select Add Printer, and follow the instructions to reconnect your printer to the network.

3. Check Network and Printer Communication

Ensure Devices are on the Same Network:

  • Verify that your iPhone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices might connect to different bands (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz) or different networks.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and iPhone to refresh network connections.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer via the HP Support website or HP Smart app.

4. Configure Network Settings

Check for IP Address Conflicts:

  • Ensure that your printer’s IP address is not conflicting with other devices on your network. You can set a static IP address for your printer if needed through your router’s settings.

Check Printer Network Settings:

  • On the printer, navigate to Network settings and ensure that the correct network settings are applied.

5. Troubleshoot Printing from iPhone

Check AirPrint:

  • Ensure that your printer supports AirPrint if you’re using iPhone to print. AirPrint should be enabled and properly configured on your printer.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Delete and reinstall the HP Smart app on your iPhone to ensure it is not causing the issue.

Check Printer Status in HP Smart:

  • Open HP Smart on your iPhone, check if the app recognizes the printer, and troubleshoot from within the app if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
