This printer prints so fast that it NEEDS a quick cancel radio button to cancel a print job.  Any quick one step solutions?

Also, occasionally when printing from a web app, the printer will display a "Printing spool" for minutes before it actually prints.  Can this be speeded up or cancelled?  The X in the LCD display does not always seem to work. Any thoughts on these items?

@Avalon11,

If it is only happening when printing from the Web, it could be a number of things. Were you able to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor?

You can also check and see if the Web browser you are using requires some updates or try another browser.

Any help?

Hello @Avalon11,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I understand you would like a quick cancel option on your HP Officejet 8610. You can cancel the print job by clicking on the red X on the control panel of the OJ 8610 once the print job is sent.

Another tip is to change the print speed, you can switch it from Fast Draft to Best Draft located in the printer preferences, this will slow the print speed down considerably. Please keep in mind it will use more ink. You can also change the paper type to 'Other/special media' which does not use require more ink.

I would like you to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.

Please let me know what the PSDR finds.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have tried the X cancel button on the printer before but will try and be quicker.

Any thoughts as to the extremely slow printing on occasion when printing an item from a web site.  Is it just the slow transfer of data from the site itself?  Sometimes it will spool for several minutes before printing occurs.

Hello HevnLgh,

Yes, I ran the Print & Scan Doctor.  It indicates that it found a printing issue (not sure what?) and fixed it.  We'll see if that speeds up printing from the web page.  I guesss it could be data transfer from the page to the printer, will find out next time I encounter that situation.

Thanks for the suggestions!
