ENVY 6000

Does anyone have a solution for the ability to print in color for my HP Envy 6000 printer?  Just purchased it and discovered it only prints in B&W.  I have downloaded the latest driver and attempted to install but will not work. Will probably never purchase an HP product again!

Hi,

Please install HP Smart from the App Store and follow the steps to install the printer:

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c03561640

Also, make sure the latest firmware is installed and check for any difference:

May you see any difference?

If not, what application are you printing from?

May you see any difference while printing from other applications such as Textedit?

Same issue for me. Printing from MS Word on a Mac running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra.

I've confirmed the firmware is up to date, set the Envy 6000 as my default printer driver through my system settings, selected the printer through Word, double-checked that there was nothing selected to print grayscale or black and white, and--no luck.

I try printing from Notes and un-click "black & white." Same result.

I export to Adobe Acrobat and also de-select grayscale. No difference. Everything I print is grayscale. But I have no issues when using other printers.

I bought this expecting an easy setup to print color AND IT WILL NOT DO THAT. I've already wasted an hour and a half trying to troubleshoot, to no avail. An utter waste of my time.

Also, support documentation has been pretty bad. I go the the printer support page (https://support.hp.com/us-en/printer-setup/hp-envy-6000-all-in-one-printer-series/29256672), click the link for the Reference Guide, and its in Japanese. Not helpful. I try to enter my printer claim code online, and am told its invalid.

I was having the same issue from my Mac running OS X v10.14.6. I was able to fix it by adding a new printer via the System Preferences, and scanning for the printer showed an option for AirPrint - Secure.  Formerly I had just set it up using AirPrint.  Once I did that, it worked, so I deleted the old setup and now everything seems to work just fine.  Fingers crossed!
