OfficeJet Pro 8210

I was given this printer by a friend who closed their business, I am trying to set it up but have been unable to connect to the WiFi and add to my HP account because anything I try to do I get the "This feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set this printer up." message but the person who gave it to me has no idea what that means either. I am gathering from reading the other related posts that a hard reset is needed, how do I do this?

Hi @cohena98,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To perform a hard reset on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 printer, follow these steps.

  • Turn off the printer: Make sure the printer is turned on, and if it's already on, press the power button to turn it off.
  • Disconnect power source: Unplug the power cord from the printer and from the power outlet. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect power source: Plug the power cord back into the printer and then into the power outlet.
  • Turn on the printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer.
  • Perform setup: After the printer restarts, it should reset to its default settings. You may need to set it up again, including connecting it to your WiFi network and adding it to your HP account.
  • Setup WiFi and HP account: Follow the on-screen instructions on the printer's control panel to connect to your WiFi network. If prompted for any previous setup information, you might need to enter it again or skip it depending on your setup needs.
  • Check HP account: Once connected to WiFi, try adding the printer to your HP account again through the HP Smart app or HP Connected website.

This reset process should clear any previous configurations that might have caused the "Wireless Connection Disabled" message. If you continue to have issues after the reset, make sure your WiFi network is functioning properly and that you're following any specific setup instructions for your model of printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
