Hi @Seren4_16

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining the issue—it’s frustrating when your printer skips yellow entirely, especially when the other colors are working.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help bring yellow back into your prints.

Steps to fix missing yellow ink

1. Check estimated ink levels

On the printer’s touchscreen or in the HP App, check if the yellow cartridge shows low or empty. If it’s low, replace it before continuing.

2. Run a printhead cleaning cycle

On the printer:

  • Tap Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead
  • Choose Level 1 Cleaning
  • Print a test page and check for yellow
  • If yellow is still missing, repeat with Level 2 Cleaning

3. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • Tap Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report
  • Look for missing or faded yellow blocks
  • If yellow is absent, continue to the next step

4. Remove and inspect the yellow cartridge

  • Power on the printer
  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Remove the yellow cartridge
  • Gently wipe the copper contacts and ink nozzle with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water
  • Reinsert the cartridge and close the door

5. Align the printhead

  • Tap Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead
  • Follow the on-screen instructions
  • Print the alignment page and check for yellow

6. Try a different document or app

Sometimes the issue is with the file or app, not the printer.

  • Print a test page from the HP App or a PDF file
  • Check if yellow appears

7. Update printer firmware

  • Visit the HP OfficeJet Firmware Page
  • Enter your printer model
  • Download and install the latest firmware using a Windows PC and USB or Wi-Fi connection

Let me know your printer model if you'd like help locating the correct firmware or if yellow is still missing after these steps. Once the printhead is clean and aligned, and the cartridge is seated properly, yellow should return to your prints.
