@Tristfootprint

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC or Printer prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Dear Echo

The product serial number is CN5242408D.

I added some RAM to Mac.

I printed a document about 2-3 weeks ago

@Tristfootprint

Thank you for posting back.

Let's perform a hard reset and then update the printer firmware if able to bypass the error. Try making a copy to check if the h/w is working fine.

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

And update the firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-4500-e-all-in-one-printer-series/530...

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
