Hi @Daztaz
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
You can use regular inkjet cartridges in a printer that was previously enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program, but there are a few things to consider:
1. Using Regular Cartridges
Compatibility: Make sure the regular cartridges are compatible with your printer model. Check the printer's manual or HP's website for compatible cartridges.
Automatic Recognition: The printer may recognize the regular cartridges, but it might prompt you about the Instant Ink program. You can usually ignore this message and continue using the printer.
2. Disabling Instant Ink Program
- Remove from Program: To stop any potential issues, you can remove the printer from the Instant Ink program:
- Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account.
- Go to My Account and find the option to remove the printer.
- Reset Settings: If you want to ensure that the printer is fully reset from the Instant Ink settings:
- Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the settings menu.
- Look for options related to Instant Ink or subscriptions and disable them.
3. Ink Level Notifications
- If you use regular cartridges, keep in mind that you might not receive accurate ink level notifications, as the printer was previously configured for Instant Ink.
4. Install Regular Cartridges
- Simply install the regular cartridges as you would normally. If the printer prompts for an Instant Ink cartridge, you can often just continue and use the cartridges you have.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
