Hi @CWeilert,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 6110 is still showing the "carriage jam" error message despite clearing the jam, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Turn off the printer and unplug it: Unplug the printer from the power source for about 60 seconds. This will reset the printer and can sometimes clear error messages related to hardware issues.

Manually move the carriage:

  • Open the printer cover and carefully move the carriage to the left and right by hand. Make sure it moves smoothly and isn't obstructed by any small bits of paper or debris.
  • If the carriage doesn’t move or feels stuck, check for any remaining paper or foreign objects that may be blocking it.

Check for hidden paper or debris:

  • Inspect the entire paper path, especially under the carriage, for any paper pieces or debris that might be blocking the movement.
  • Look carefully inside the printer where the carriage moves to ensure there’s nothing obstructing the area.

Check the printhead and cartridges:

  • Remove the ink cartridges and printhead (if removable). Check for any paper stuck in the area around the printhead.
  • Clean the printhead and check for any obstructions or debris in the area.

Reset the printer:

  • After ensuring the carriage moves freely and no paper or debris is blocking it, perform a reset. Turn the printer on and off a few times.
  • If the error persists, try a "soft reset" by holding down the Power button for about 15 seconds while the printer is on.

Update the printer firmware: Check if there is any available firmware update for your printer. Sometimes a firmware update can fix software issues that might be causing the error message.

Perform a hard reset:

  • Unplug the printer.
  • Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds while the printer is unplugged.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
