Hi @Skrapi, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Cartridges Not Communicating" error on your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e printer can be caused by several factors, including improper cartridge installation, dirty contacts, or firmware issues. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve it:
Check Cartridge Installation
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door and ensure both cartridges are properly seated.
- Remove both ink cartridges and reinsert them firmly until they click into place.
- Close the access door and restart the printer.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridges.
- Allow them to dry completely before reinserting them.
- Restart the printer and check if the error persists.
Check for Protective Tape
- Ensure you have removed all protective tape from the ink cartridges before installing them.
- If there is any residue or plastic covering on the contacts, gently remove it.
Reset the Printer
- Unplug the printer while it is turned on.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware
- Open HP Smart App or visit HP Support.
- Search for your printer model and check for any available firmware updates.
- Install updates if available and restart the printer.
Use Genuine HP Ink
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. If the cartridges are refilled or third-party, they may not communicate properly with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
