I have a problem with h/p.  First off my printer displays error code b808746c with all the flashing lights and no shut down capabilities in the power button.  please provide step by step instructions on how to reset and getting the printer to work again.

Hi @Landlocked0101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Disconnect the Power Cord:

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove All Other Cables:

  • If you have any other cables connected to the printer (such as USB cables), disconnect them.

Wait for 60 Seconds:

  • Leave the printer unplugged and disconnected for at least 60 seconds.

Reconnect the Power Cord:

  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.

Turn on the Printer:

  • Press the power button to turn on the printer.

Reset to Factory Settings (if necessary):

  • If the printer starts up normally but the issue persists, you may need to reset the printer to factory settings.
  • On the home screen of the printer control panel, navigate to the "Settings" or "Setup" menu.
  • Find the "Restore Factory Defaults" or "Reset" option and select it.

Check for Firmware Update:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates by connecting the printer to a network and accessing the "Settings" menu to check for firmware updates.

I hope this helps.
