Can anyone tell me how to correct the colors being printed? Since inserting some new cartridges some time ago - the colors are off. I have done a Realignment, and cleaned the printer heads, and done a test page, but nothing is working. Does HP have a customer service?

Hi @Carolw0205,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet Pro 6830 is printing incorrect colors after inserting new cartridges, here are steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Verify Cartridges Are Genuine
- Make sure you’re using genuine HP cartridges. Non-genuine or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause color inaccuracies.
- Check the cartridge packaging or the HP Smart app (if installed) to confirm their authenticity.
Check Cartridge Installation
- Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure they are installed correctly.
- Inspect the cartridges for any protective tape left on the nozzles and remove it if present.
- Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Run Printhead Cleaning Again
- Access the printer menu and run the Printhead Cleaning tool multiple times (up to three cycles). Sometimes a deeper cleaning is required to resolve persistent issues.
Perform a Print Quality Diagnostic
- Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report from the printer's settings menu.
- Inspect the report for any missing lines, streaks, or color issues. This can indicate whether the problem is with a specific color cartridge.
Align the Printheads
- Ensure the alignment process completed correctly. Misalignment can cause color issues. Repeat alignment through the printer settings if necessary.
Check Printer Settings
- Ensure the print settings are configured correctly. Verify:
- Paper type matches what you’re using.
- Color mode is set to color, not grayscale.
- Quality settings are appropriate for your print job.
Update Printer Firmware
- Check if a firmware update is available for your printer. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues with new cartridges. Update through the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings menu.

Perform a System Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for at least 2 minutes.
- Reconnect and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve color calibration issues.
Test Different Media
- Print on a different type of paper to rule out issues with the paper absorbing ink incorrectly.
Replace Faulty Cartridges
- If the problem persists, one or more cartridges might be faulty, even if they are new. Replace the cartridges (start with the color that appears problematic).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
