Hi @DeeZ_View,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with frequent paper jams, especially with a new printer. The E3 error code typically indicates a paper jam or a paper path issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check for Obstructions: Open the printer’s access doors and look for any bits of paper or foreign objects that might be obstructing the paper path.
- Inspect Paper Feed Rollers: Make sure the rollers are clean and not worn out. Dust or debris on the rollers can cause paper jams. You can gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
- Verify Paper Type and Size: Ensure you’re using the correct type and size of paper for the printer. Also, check that the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray and not exceeding the maximum capacity.
- Reload Paper Tray: Remove the paper from the tray, fan it to prevent sheets from sticking together, and then reload it into the tray. Ensure the paper guides are snug against the paper stack but not too tight.
- Check for Paper Path Issues: Look for any misaligned or jammed paper in the paper path. Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid tearing it.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes a simple reset can resolve issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website or use the HP Smart app to update the firmware if necessary.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
