Hi @reddpost,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can understand how frustrating it is when your brand-new HP Envy 6100 series printer keeps going into an error state even after following all the recommended resets and instructions. You’ve done the right troubleshooting steps so far. Let’s dig deeper and fix this.
Why This Happens
- Corrupted printer driver or spooler service.
- Incorrect communication between Windows 11 and the printer.
- HP Smart or full-feature software was not installed properly.
- Network or USB connection instability.
Recommended Fix
1. Clear Print Spooler
- Press Windows + R, type:
- services.msc
- Find Print Spooler, right-click → Stop.
- Go to:
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete all files in this folder.
- Restart Print Spooler (right-click → Start).
2. Remove and Reinstall Printer
- Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the HP Envy 6100 printer.
- Restart your PC.
- Download and install the Full Feature Software: 👉 HP Envy 6100 All-in-One Printer series | HP® Support
3. Use HP App
- Download here: 👉 HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
- Run the tool and follow prompts to fix the spooler and driver issues.
4. Check Connection
- If using Wi-Fi:
- Ensure the printer and PC are on the same network.
- Assign a static IP to the printer via router or EWS.
- If using USB:
- Try a different USB port and cable.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
