Hi @jo02-07-1951,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code OXC4EB8024 on your HP Envy 6230 printer typically indicates a hardware issue with the printer's ink system or carriage assembly. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Reset the Printer
Performing a reset can clear temporary glitches:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer and inspect for paper jams or debris in the carriage area or rollers.
- Remove any visible obstructions carefully.
Inspect and Reinstall Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer access door and wait for the cartridge carriage to stop moving.
- Remove the ink cartridges and check for:
- Damaged contacts.
- Residue or ink buildup on the electrical contacts.
- Clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges firmly.
Perform a Hard Reset
If the above steps don’t work, perform a more in-depth reset:
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.
Update the Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your printer model (HP Envy 6230) and download the latest firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
