Hi @Emij100,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your HP Envy Photo 6234 suddenly stops printing and throws up a cryptic error like OXB86B1646. You're not alone. This kind of error usually points to a firmware or internal hardware fault, but there are steps you can take to try and fix it before considering service.

Try These Steps to Fix Error Code OXB86B1646

1. Power Reset the Printer

This simple step often clears temporary glitches:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Update Firmware and Drivers

Outdated software can trigger internal errors:

3. Run HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

This tool is built into the HP app and can automatically detect and resolve many issues:

4. Check for Cartridge or Printhead Issues

Sometimes this error is linked to ink system faults:

  • Remove and reinsert cartridges.
  • Clean the printhead gently with a lint-free cloth.
  • Make sure you're using genuine HP cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
