Hi @bill19691
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code "hpox6100048" on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 typically indicates a hardware or connectivity issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this error:
Step 1: Restart the Printer
- Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait a Minute: Allow the printer to sit without power for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it Back In: Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Step 2: Check for Paper Jams
- Open Printer Covers: Check for any paper jams by opening the printer covers.
- Remove Any Obstructions: If you find any jammed paper, carefully remove it, ensuring there are no torn pieces left inside.
Step 3: Check Ink Cartridges
- Remove and Reinsert Cartridges: Open the cartridge access door, remove the ink cartridges, and then reinstall them to ensure they’re seated correctly.
- Check for Damage: Inspect the cartridges for any signs of damage or leaks.
Step 4: Reset Network Settings (if applicable)
If your printer is connected to a network, consider resetting the network settings:
- Go to Setup: From the printer’s control panel, go to Setup.
- Network Settings: Navigate to Network and select Restore Network Defaults.
Step 5: Update Printer Firmware
- Check for Firmware Updates:
- Use the HP Smart app or the HP Support website to check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Follow the instructions to install any updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
