Hi @Nellums,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The event code 62.80.03 on your HP printer indicates a printhead problem. This error code generally suggests that the printhead might be faulty, improperly installed, or encountering an internal issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
1. Turn Off and Unplug the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
2. Check and Reseat the Printhead
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door. This is typically the door you open to replace cartridges.
- Carefully remove the printhead. Depending on your printer model, this might involve removing the ink cartridges first.
- Look for any visible signs of damage or obstruction. Also, check for any ink residue that might be blocking the printhead.:
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
- After cleaning, reinstall the printhead and cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated and aligned.
3. Check for Obstructions
- Check the area around the printhead for any paper or other debris that might be causing a blockage.
- Remove any obstructions carefully, ensuring not to damage any internal components.
4. Run Printer Diagnostics
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Use the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app to run any diagnostic tests. These can help identify and sometimes resolve issues.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for and install any firmware updates for your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
