I am getting an "attention required" everytime i try to print from my windows 11 laptop. it used to work perfectly fine. now its not what do i do

I understand your HP DeskJet 4155e keeps showing “Attention Required” when printing from your Windows 11 laptop. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart printer and computer
Turn off the printer and your laptop, wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
This clears temporary communication issues.

Check printer status in Windows
Open Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners → DeskJet 4155e.
Make sure it shows as Ready and not Offline or Error.

Clear pending print jobs
Open the print queue and cancel all jobs.
Sometimes a stuck or corrupted job triggers the “Attention Required” message.

Check USB or network connection
If using USB, reconnect the cable and try a different port.
If using Wi-Fi, make sure the printer and laptop are on the same network.

Update or reinstall printer driver
Go to HP Support → Software & Drivers, download the latest Windows 11 driver for DeskJet 4155e, and install it.
Removing the printer from Windows first, then reinstalling, often resolves persistent errors.

Check for firmware updates on the printer
Open the printer menu or HP Smart app → Printer Maintenance → Update Printer.
Firmware updates can fix communication errors that cause the attention message.

Run Windows Troubleshooter
Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Printer → Run.
Follow the instructions to automatically detect and fix issues.
