HP OfficeJet Pro 9210e won't print through the USB cord from the Chromebook now but it did before. Printer was entered under settings and chosen as the printer when trying to print.

@Julie_D_C, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9210e was previously printing via USB from your Chromebook, but it has recently stopped working. Let’s walk through a few steps to get things working again.

Check USB Connection

  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the Chromebook.
  • Try a different USB port on the Chromebook.
  • If possible, test with another USB cable to rule out cable issues.

Remove and Re-add the Printer

Sometimes re-adding the printer can resolve communication issues:

  • On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  • Click the three dots next to your printer and select Remove.
  • Then click Add Printer and follow the prompts to re-add the OfficeJet Pro 9210e.

Enable USB Printing Support

Make sure your Chromebook supports USB printing:

Update Chromebook and Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, try printing from another device via USB to isolate whether the issue is with the Chromebook or the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
