Hi @gla1101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 8020 series printer is showing all lights flashing with error code B84948FC and won’t recover even after resets. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds, then reconnect and power on to clear temporary system errors.

Check for Firmware Corruption

A flashing‑lights error with a blue screen often points to firmware corruption.

If the printer can connect via USB, install the latest firmware update using the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start.

Remove Network Setup Variables

Disconnect the printer from Wi‑Fi by turning off the router temporarily.

Power on the printer without network access to see if the error clears.

Check Cartridge and Hardware Connections

Remove and reseat ink cartridges.

Open and close all access doors firmly to ensure sensors are engaged.

Test with USB Connection

If wireless setup triggers the error, connect the printer directly to your computer with a USB cable.

This bypasses network initialization and can allow firmware recovery.

I hope this helps.
