HP ENVY Photo
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer. For the second or third time I am getting no print from colors and streaky black with relatively full cartridges. Granted I don't print alot but cartridges are less than 7 months old

@stevel2020, Welcome to HP Support Community!

This could be an issue with the ink cartridges or the printer ink system. Follow the steps below to isolate and resolve the issue-

Clean the ink cartridges

Use the automated tool to clean the ink cartridges.

NOTE:

To avoid issues that require cleaning, always turn the printer off with the Power button.

  1. On the control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setupicon.

  2. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  3. Touch Clean Cartridges, and then touch Continue.

A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

  4. Examine the Print Quality Diagnostic page.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. Repeat these steps for the third cleaning stage, if necessary.

      NOTE:

If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

    • If the print quality is acceptable, touch Done.

Align the printer

Use an automated tool to align the ink cartridges.

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setupicon.

  2. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  3. Touch Align Cartridges, and then touch Continue.

The printer prints an alignment page.

After aligning the ink cartridges, try to print. If the print quality is unacceptable, continue to the next step.

For additional steps, follow the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for getting back to me. I tried all your suggestions and am still ending up with no color printing and the black is streaky. Cartridge levels are above 20% color and 40% black.

I cleaned and aligned, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Same horrible results.

This is not the first time that this has happened. In the past I went and purchased new cartridges and it worked, but at the price of your ink that is crazy to throw out relatively full cartridges.

I need to print today!!! Who can help me??

I appreciate your efforts, this looks like a hardware issue.
