Hi @Jimbo77771,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're receiving the message "one or more of your cartridges may be damaged, please replace all cartridges" on your HP OfficeJet 8600 Plus even after installing new cartridges, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Remove and Reinstall: Turn off the printer, then remove all the cartridges. Carefully reinstall them, ensuring they click securely into place.

2. Inspect the Cartridges

  • Check for Damage: Examine the cartridges for any visible damage or defects.
  • Protective Tape: Ensure that any protective tape or seals have been removed from the new cartridges before installation.

3. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Power Off the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Wipe Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth or paper towel slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and the printhead. Allow everything to dry before reinserting the cartridges.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Factory Reset: You may need to perform a factory reset on your printer. Check the user manual for specific instructions on how to do this.

5. Update Firmware

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

6. Check for Error Codes

  • Look for any other error codes or messages on the printer's display that could provide more context about the issue.

7. Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Ensure that the cartridges you purchased are genuine HP cartridges, as compatible or remanufactured cartridges can sometimes cause issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
