Hi @stanglea1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're getting a "printer validation failed" error on your HP LaserJet 3301fdw from one Windows 11 PC, but it prints fine from others on the network, the issue is likely local to that specific PC, often due to driver, port, or permission conflicts.

Fix: Printer Validation Failed on One PC

1. Remove and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your HP 3301 printer and click Remove.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app: 👉HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

2. Manually Install the Correct Driver

  1. Visit the official driver page:
👉 HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
  2. Download and install the Full Feature Software and Driver.
  3. During installation, choose "Connect via Network" if your printer is on Wi-Fi.

3. Check Printer Port Settings

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab.
  3. Ensure it's using a WSDTCP/IP, or HP Standard Port — not a USB or offline port.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
