Hi @SUNSHINE424

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The Er11 error on your HP LaserJet MFP M29w usually indicates a problem with the toner cartridge recognition. Here’s how to fix it:

Check the Toner Cartridge Chip

  • Remove the toner cartridge and inspect the chip on the left side.
  • Ensure it is properly aligned and not loose.
  • If misaligned, gently adjust it and reinsert the cartridge.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the gold-colored contacts on the toner cartridge.
  • Also clean the corresponding contacts inside the printer.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Perform a Factory Reset via Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Connect your computer to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network.
  • Open a browser and enter 192.168.223.1 to access the Embedded Web Server.
  • Navigate to System > Service > Restore Defaults to reset all settings.

Update the Firmware on an HP Printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes.
  • Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
  • Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer:
