HP 4630 Error Code OXB04A0A84
Hello,
I found this error code on the display of the printer today and I couldn't do anything else than unplug it and now the printer doesn't even power up again..
I saw other user already expreriencing this issue and they have been told to unplug and then plug in again, but it's not working... as I said, mine is not powering up again after I unplugged it..
To another user has been suggested in this forum to do a semi-full reset but was not explained how to it, only that would have been sent the instruction to his private mail..
can someone help me?
Thanx in advance

Hi @RAMONA76 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the error code 0xB04A0A84 on the HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer typically indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Since your printer is now not powering up at all, troubleshooting steps need to address both the initial error and the current power issue. Here's what you can try:
1. Check Power Connections
- Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Try a different wall outlet to rule out any issues with the current outlet.
- If using a power strip or surge protector, plug the printer directly into the wall.
2. Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from the wall and disconnect all cables.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes.
- While the printer is unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual electricity.
- Reconnect the power cable and try powering on the printer.
3. Inspect the Power Module
- If the printer still doesn't turn on, check the power module (if applicable) for any visible damage or loose connections.
- If you have a spare power adapter or can borrow one, try using it to rule out issues with the original power supply.
4. Semi-Full Reset (if it powers on)
If the printer powers on again but still displays the error code:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the “Cancel” and “OK” buttons together.
- While holding the buttons, turn on the printer.
- Release the buttons when the printer powers on.
This reset may clear the error, but note that it could also reset settings such as Wi-Fi and preferences.
5. Firmware Update
If the printer becomes operational:
- Update the firmware via HP's website to prevent future errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello Gaya,
Thanks so much for your help but none of your suggestions has worked for my printer.
It still not power on anymore. guess I may try to buy a new internal power adapter if this can solve the issue..
Nothing else has worked so far and this could be the last chance for this printer I guess, unless you can tell me that, that specific code error has nothing to do with that, and I can save time and money and just discharge it 😞
Thanks again for you time and help anyway.
