Hi @simples2,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Smart Tank 7300 series printer printing pink, it could indicate an issue with the ink system or the print settings. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure all ink tanks, especially the cyan and yellow tanks, have sufficient ink.
  • Refill any low tanks using the correct HP ink.

2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone.
  • Go to Printer Maintenance or a similar section.
  • Select Clean Printhead and follow the instructions.
  • Print a test page to check if the issue persists.

3. Align the Printhead

  • In the HP Smart app, navigate to Printer Maintenance.
  • Select Align Printhead and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • This ensures the printheads are properly aligned for accurate color reproduction.

4. Check the Printhead Nozzles

  • Print a Diagnostic Page from the HP Smart app or the printer control panel.
  • Examine the test page for missing colors or streaks.
    • If cyan or yellow is missing, perform another round of cleaning or check the printheads.

5. Verify Print Settings

  • Before printing, ensure that the document settings are correct:
    • Color Mode is set to Color and not grayscale.
    • Paper type matches the type loaded in the printer.
    • Print quality is set to the desired level (e.g., Normal or Best).

6. Inspect for Clogs or Blockages

  • Open the printer and inspect the printhead area for any dried ink or blockages.
  • If needed, clean the printheads gently with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.

7. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in, power it on, and try printing again.

8. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if your printer’s firmware is up to date.
  • Use the HP Smart app or the HP Support website to download and install updates.

9. Replace the Printheads

  • If cleaning doesn’t help and the diagnostic page shows missing colors, the printhead may need replacing.
  • Refer to your printer manual for instructions on replacing the printhead.  User Guide
