Hi @wpell ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand a blinking blue wireless light on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 usually indicates that the printer is trying to connect to a WiFi network. Since you are also experiencing a power cycle request, resetting the printer might help resolve the issue.

Steps to Reset HP OfficeJet Pro 8620

1. Power Reset (Basic)

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cable from the printer and from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.

2. Reset Wireless Settings

  1. On the printer's control panel, tap the Wireless icon (🛜).
  2. Select Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  3. Confirm by selecting Yes.
  4. The blue wireless light should start blinking, indicating it's ready for setup.
  5. Reconnect the printer to WiFi using the HP Smart app or printer menu.

3. Semi-Full Reset (Factory Reset)

This will erase all printer settings, including network and fax configurations.

  1. On the printer's control panel, swipe down and tap Setup (⚙️).
  2. Go to Printer Maintenance > Restore.
  3. Select Restore Factory Defaults.
  4. Confirm the reset.

4. Hard Reset (For Persistent Issues)

If the printer still blinks or asks to restart repeatedly:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Back button (↩) and Home button together.
  3. While holding the buttons, turn on the printer.
  4. Release the buttons when the Reset Menu appears.
  5. Select Semi-Full Reset and confirm.

After resetting, reconnect your printer to WiFi and check if the issue persists. Let me know if you need further help!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
