how to resolve error 49 4C02 HP LASER KET CP4025

The first step is to determine if this is a software/driver/network issue or a problem with the printer. Power off the printer and disconnect any USB or Network connections. Then power on the printer and see if it comes to ready.

If it does, then print any of the reports from the control panel of the printer. If they print then you have either an issue with outdated firmware that the print job you are sending triggers a failure, or you have a corrupt print driver or document. Your next step would be to update the firmware on the printer to the most current version posted at support.hp.com. Before reconnecting the printer to the network though, you need to flush the print spooler or the printer will likely error out again.

If you still get the 49 error when starting the printer with no connections then you have either corrupted firmware or a possible hardware failure.

Follow these troubleshooting steps:

Power off the printer, remove the formatter and power on the printer. On the back of the printer there is a small hole which is the engine test button access. Make sure there is paper in tray 2 and then use a small blunt object to press the test button. If a page of lines prints, then the base engine is ok and the issue is with the formatter or a component on the formatter. Remove any extra memory or drives from the formatter. Power off the printer, reinsert the formatter and see if the printer starts up. If it does, then power off, reinstall one of the removed components and then reinsert and start the printer. Repeat until an installed component causes failure. If the printer fails even with the bare formatter installed you will want to perform a cold reset on the printer and if that does not work you will have to decide if you are going to replace the formatter or buy a new printer.
