Hi @Vee-woo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, like verifying the Wi-Fi password and considering a reset. Here's a step-by-step guide you can follow to perform a full reset and re-initialize your HP 6700 printer.

  • Turn off the printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect any cables: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the power outlet. Also, disconnect any Ethernet or USB cables connected to the printer.
  • Wait for a few minutes: Let the printer sit idle for about 2-3 minutes to ensure that all power is drained from the printer.
  • Perform a partial reset: Press and hold the "# and 3" keys simultaneously on the printer's control panel.
  • Plug in the power cord: While still holding down the "# and 3" keys, plug the power cord back into the printer.
  • Continue holding the keys: Keep holding the "# and 3" keys until the printer turns on. Once the printer powers on, you can release the keys.
  • Wait for the reset to complete: The printer will go through a series of reset procedures. This may take a few minutes.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Once the reset is complete, you'll need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the wireless settings and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure to enter the correct Wi-Fi password.
  • Test the connection: Print a wireless network test report from the printer's control panel to confirm that it's connected to the Wi-Fi network successfully.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Depending on your wireless hardware you may need to configure your wireless router by providing a unique SSID for the 2.4Ghz channel and only allowing the printer to connect to that SSID. Compatibility with current 5Ghz specs can be spotty on some printers.
