@DrCabinet, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP ENVY 6055 printer is displaying an idle status and not printing, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Check the Printer Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to the computer or network.
  • If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely connected both to the printer and the computer.
  • If using a wireless connection, ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and wait for a few seconds.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Check for Paper and Ink:

  • Make sure there is paper loaded in the input tray.
  • Check ink levels and replace any empty ink cartridges.

Clear Print Queue:

  • On your computer, go to "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners".
  • Select your HP ENVY 6055 printer.
  • Right-click the printer and select "See what's printing".
  • Cancel all pending print jobs.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Install the updated drivers and restart your computer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.
  • This tool can help diagnose and fix connectivity and printing issues.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure the printer is set as the default printer.
  • Check if the printer is in offline mode and change it to online mode if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
