The message "There is a problem with the supply system..." appeared in my HP Officejet Pro 8720.  I installed a new cartridge, rebooted the PC and the printer, but the same message still appears.  I need help. Thanks!

You may need to clean the printhead.  possibly ink dried out and there is debris.

Something is stopping the ink from coming out.  Try cleaning the copper contacts.  I have no experience with 87xx but possibly the ink cannot get out due to a printhead problem.

 


Some printers have a printhead cleaning procedure.

To clean the printhead on an HP printer, access the printer settings through the HP Smart app, navigate to "Print Quality Tools," and select "Clean Printhead"; this will initiate a cleaning cycle where the printer will automatically run a cleaning process to clear any clogs in the printhead

This is another type of printhead cleaning, different from the above but does not show cleaning dried out ink

Also, click the ink-drop icon on the printer screen and evaluate all ink levels..

 

Are all 4 ink cartridges have a sufficient ink level? note that all ink cartridges must have ink to print with your printer..
