HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw

After attempting to connect to WPS and failed, I turned the printer off. Now, whenever it's on, the screen is stuck on Initializing... with the WPS button on. I have tried the power cord reset but it was unsuccessful. Is there another solution that I may try?

If your HP LaserJet MFP M26nw is stuck on the "Initializing..." screen and displaying the WPS button, and the power cord reset hasn’t resolved the issue, you might need to try additional troubleshooting steps. Here are some methods to resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Power Cycle and Hard Reset

Perform a Hard Reset:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for at least 60 seconds. This allows any residual power to drain and resets the printer’s internal components.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Disconnect All Cables:

  • Disconnect all cables (power, network, etc.) from the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and then reconnect them. This ensures that no residual signals are interfering with the initialization process.

2. Check for Hardware Issues

Inspect for Physical Obstructions:

  • Open the printer’s access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the printer to hang during initialization.

Check for Printer Components:

  • Ensure that all printer components, such as toner cartridges and paper trays, are properly installed and seated. Misalignment or improper installation can sometimes cause initialization issues.

3. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Factory Reset (if accessible):
    • While some models have a specific button combination to perform a factory reset, the HP LaserJet MFP M26nw may not have this feature directly accessible through the menu. If available, consult the printer's manual for factory reset instructions.

4. Update Firmware

  • Check Firmware Version:
