I do not know how my printer went into mfg mode. How do I change it? The buttons on the left are flashing with an error code on the screen 0XB85BF610.  I have unplugged it from the back. Turned it back on. Powered it off and it does not change, still has the same errors.

Hi @RCS-01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 4652 printer is showing the error code 0xB85BF610 and is stuck in Manufacturing (MFG) Mode. Let’s go through a few steps to bring it back to normal operating mode.

a. Power Reset

With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait for 60 seconds.

Plug the cord directly back into the wall outlet (avoid using a surge protector).

Reconnect the cord to the printer and power it on.

b. Exit MFG Mode

On the printer’s control panel, locate and press the following key combination:

Press and hold “Back” + “Home” buttons together for 5–10 seconds.

If the display shows a hidden Support Menu, look for an option that says “Reset Menu” or “Exit MFG Mode” and select it.

The printer should restart automatically and return to normal mode.

c. Perform a Semi-Full Reset (if the issue persists)

Power off the printer.

Hold down “#” and “9” on the control panel while turning the printer back on.

Continue holding until the printer shows “Semi-Full Reset” or restarts by itself.

This will clear the MFG Mode and most internal errors (note: it will reset some settings like wireless configuration and fax logs).

d. Reconnect and Test

After the reset, allow the printer to initialize.

Reconnect it to your Wi-Fi or USB connection.

Print a test page to confirm that it is functioning normally.

I hope this helps.
