HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301dw Printer

My printer powers on but display is stuck on HP logo and can't do anything. Tried using cable to connect but pc does not recognize it. Network part is not starting either, so have no way to get into the printer to update firmware or do anything. Please send me hard rest instructions for this model as the printer is unusable at the moment since nothing loads up on the screen beside HP logo.

thank you

Hi @Pzachariasz

Welcome to the HP support community.

If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301dw is stuck on the HP logo, a hard reset might help resolve the issue. Here are the steps to perform a hard reset:

Hard Reset Instructions:

Power Off the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.

Wait:

  • Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds. This allows any residual charge to dissipate and can reset the printer’s internal memory.

Reconnect Power:

  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Power On:

  • Turn on the printer using the power button.

Additional Steps If Reset Doesn’t Work:

Check for Jammed Print Jobs:

  • If you can access the printer settings, make sure there are no stuck print jobs that might be causing the issue.

Perform a Firmware Recovery:

  • If the printer remains unresponsive, consider performing a firmware recovery. However, this usually requires access to the printer’s control panel, which may not be possible if the display is stuck.
  • click here to download the firmware

Contact HP Support:

  • If the hard reset does not resolve the issue and you still see the HP logo, it may be necessary to contact HP support for further assistance. There could be a more serious hardware issue that requires professional attention.

Troubleshooting Connection:

If you manage to get the display working again but still have issues connecting it to your PC, try the following:

Check USB or Network Connection:

  • Ensure that the USB cable is connected securely.
  • If using a network connection, make sure the printer is connected to the correct network.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Download the latest drivers from the HP website and reinstall them on your PC.

Hopefully, these steps will help get your printer back to normal operation. Let me know if you need any further assistance!

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you kindly for the info. Unfortunately I did the unplugging and re-plugging few times but still gets stuck on the logo. Have no way to get to the back end, as its not picking up network, or communicating through usb cable. I guess its time to replace it, as repair is not worth it. Thanks a bunch for your reply though.
