I bought an HP8210 2 years ago for home use. About a year ago I bought a new HP ink package (B,C,R,Y). The C ran out last week and when I put it in it says "older generation ink". How can this be? I bought the ink AFTER I bought the printer.

why doesn't this work? And what is HP going to do to fix it?

Hi @kheight

I understand you are not able to use the new replacement ink cartridges due to this error. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

To assist you better,

Are you sure this is an HP genuine ink cartridge?

If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons.

Could you please share your printer's serial number or product number with us via private message?

Need help finding your product number? No worries! Check out this handy guide:
