I have a laserjet pro on a home wifi, Verizon/ORBI mesh with surfshark and malware. I noticed an activation that I couldn't account for. The lights went on and the printer seemed to cycle without printing and I turned the power off after a few moments trying to interrupt what I thought was an unauthorized attempt to gain access to my home network.  Can anyone tell me how I might be able to substantiate my concerns, how to best proceed? Thanks. Jack-NJ nov 5, 2025. 2:25PM Eastern. USA.

Keep in mind that printers will turn on periodically based on idle time and pages printed to perform cleaning and calibrations to ensure print quality.  In terms of outside intrusion, your router may provide a log of who has been connected and you could look for a IP address or host name you do not recognize.
