HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

HP 6967 does not show an error but will delete the title or bottom line of my page. I tried checking the margins but that did no good. Have not changed my paper.  Started this over a year ago. Most of this comes from the internet jobs I am trying to print.  Thanks

Hi @overthehillgran,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer's incomplete print job!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

As your HP OfficeJet 6967 is cutting off the top or bottom of the page when printing from the internet, try these troubleshooting steps:

Check Paper Size and Scaling

  • Open the Print dialog (Ctrl + P or Cmd + P on Mac).
  • Look for "Paper Size" and ensure it’s set to Letter (8.5x11") or the correct size.
  • Under "Page Scaling" or "Fit to Page", try selecting:
    • "Fit to Printable Area"
    • "Shrink to Fit"

Use Print Preview Before Printing

  • Click File → Print Preview before printing.
  • If content is missing in preview mode, the issue is with the webpage formatting.

Try a Different Browser

  • Some websites don’t print correctly in certain browsers.
  • Try printing from Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox instead of Safari or Internet Explorer.

Adjust Margins

  • In the Print dialog, go to Margins and set them to 0.25 inches on all sides.
  • If there's an option for "Borderless Printing", enable it.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to HP’s official website and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  • Install the updated driver and restart your computer.

Use "Print as Image" (For PDFs)

  • If printing a PDF, open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Go to Print → Advanced → Print as Image.
  • Click OK, then print.

Manually Copy and Paste into a Word Document

  • If the issue happens only on certain websites, copy the content into Microsoft Word or Google Docs, adjust margins, and print from there.

Reset the Printer (Last Resort)

  • Unplug the printer for 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Reset Printing System (Mac: System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Right-click Printer → Reset).

If the Issue Persists

  • Try printing a test page from the printer menu (without a computer).
  • If that prints fine, the issue is with browser settings or software.

Let me know how it goes! 😊

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
