I was on the instant ink plan for almost a year. I received 1 ink replacement over 6 months ago. I canceled the program because i was paying more a year on the program than i was on ink. I just put the only cartriges i ever receiven and the printer told me i had to be prt of the program to use it. Why can I not Use them? i paid over $90 dollars for a cartridge set i cannot use

Hi @Konabear1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to encounter this issue with your printer and the cartridges you purchased. It seems like the printer is locked into the Instant Ink program, which requires a subscription to use.
NOTE: Once you cancel the instant ink account you can use any genuine HP ink cartridges and the printer will work.
As its a paper-based subscription not an ink-based subscription, the plan is to provide you a set of number of pages to print every month and is charged for the same, the ink is not sent every month but only when it is low.
Pages not used in a month is carried forward and you can check the rollover number of pages in your instant ink account.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
