Hi @doncf

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

It sounds like a frustrating situation! Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the jam and ink leakage:

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the printer and let it sit for a few minutes. This can help reset any internal components.
  2. Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer and carefully inspect for any paper jams. Look for torn pieces of paper or foreign objects that might be causing the jam. Remove any obstructions you find.
  3. Inspect the Ink Cartridge: Remove the new ink cartridge and check for any damage or leaks. Make sure it’s properly seated in its slot. If the cartridge is leaking, you may need to replace it again.
  4. Clean Up Leaked Ink: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to carefully wipe up any leaked ink inside the printer. Avoid using anything that might scratch or damage the printer components.
  5. Run a Cleaning Cycle: Once everything is clear and dry, reinstall the ink cartridge and run a cleaning cycle through the printer’s settings to ensure that the print heads are functioning properly.
