Product: HP office jet pro 6978
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

On my HP office Jet Pro 6978 printer the left side of the display touch screen  is only showing  the  "?"

It is not show the home or back buttons.   Just happened yesterday.

How do I get all 3 to  appear on the display screen again.

 

Thanks in advance for your help.

All the 3 icons will not be displayed/ON when you are on the Home screen of the printer. This is as per the design.

 

To explain, when you are already on the home screen of the printer, there is no reason for the home icon to be lit up and the same with the back arrow button because you cannot go back from this screen.

 

These icons will lit up when you are not on the home screen. For example, tap any option on the printer like copy. Now the back and the home button will lit up.
