HP LaserJet m277dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer is now stuck in a constant rebooting cycling. HP Logo, Progress Bar get's to about 35%, then it goes to a white Screen. And then back to the HP Logo and 5, 10, 25, 35% then White screen again. I've tried powering off the printer over night, pressing the left-corner, and right corner reset during startup and experience no VRAM resets or anything. Just Power on HP Logo, Progress Bar Moves, and Then White Screen. I've removed all the paper, Toner. During bootup everything is spinning like it normally sounds. The HP tool for Firmware only works if the printer seems to be on, It won't detect it during this failed boot up. Thoughts, is some part broken that is failing during startup, causing this error? How do I diagnose further?

My guess is either the firmware is messed up somehow. Or a component is failing to communicate during the bootup process. Thus is causes some unhandled error, and does a reboot.

Hi @tusabrl,

I'd like to help!

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I tried the above solution for a reset, and the printer continues to the do the same thing.
HP logo, Progress Bar goes to about 30%, and then white screen and starts over again.

Holding the arrow and home buttons does make the cycle take longer probably 4 minutes, vs normal it takes about 40 seconds to power on, progress bar then reboot.
