how can one make the printer default black and white

not sure if this is the right way but i found how to change to black and white

you can do it by following method
  1. Click the Start Button.
  2. Select Devices and Printers.
  3. Right click on your printer.
  4. Select Printing Preferences.
  5. Go to the Color tab.
  6. Select Print in Gray scale.
  7. Click Apply.
