Hi @allena5677

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2700 printer is not connecting to Wi-Fi and isn't resetting to factory settings, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the printer's internal settings.

2. Reset Network Settings

  • If the printer allows it, you can try to reset the network settings:
    1. From the Control Panel:
      • On the printer's control panel, locate the Wi-Fi or Wireless button.
      • Hold the Wi-Fi button for about 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
    2. From the HP Smart App:
      • If you have the HP Smart app, you may be able to reset the network settings through the app.
      • Open the app, select your printer, and look for Printer Settings or Network Settings.

3. Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings

  • After resetting the network settings, try reconnecting to Wi-Fi:
    1. Use the Wireless button to access the wireless setup mode.
    2. Follow the prompts to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

4. Check Printer Firmware

  • Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

5. Try a Different Wi-Fi Network

  • If possible, try connecting the printer to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, issues with the router can prevent devices from connecting.

6. Check Router Settings

  • Make sure that your router is configured to allow the printer to connect. Check for:
    • MAC address filtering.
    • Guest network settings.
    • Wi-Fi security protocols (ensure WPA2 is used).

7. Factory Reset the Printer

  • If the above steps do not work and you're looking for a full factory reset, try the following:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Resume button (the triangle inside a circle) while turning the printer back on.
    3. Continue holding the button until the printer starts initializing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
