Hi @6412, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding error code!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The BA00004C error code on your HP Envy 7640 usually indicates a firmware issue or hardware failure. Here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cable from the back.
  2. Unplug the power from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Plug the power cable back directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  5. Reconnect the power to the printer, then turn it on.

2. Update Firmware via USB

If the printer turns on after the reset, updating the firmware may prevent the issue from returning:

  1. Go to HP Support and enter your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest firmware update.
  3. Run the firmware update with the printer connected via USB to your PC.

3. Try a Semi-Full Reset (Factory Reset)

⚠️ This will reset all settings to factory defaults.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Back button (↩️) and Cancel (✖️) button.
  3. While holding these buttons, turn the printer back on.
  4. Keep holding until the HP logo appears, then release.
