My 2852e printer won't print all of a sudden.  It was working fine a few days ago.  It goes through the motions when I select print but nothing prints on the paper

Hi @Doris50

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing what’s happening. It’s genuinely frustrating when your HP DeskJet 2852e suddenly stops printing—especially when everything else seems to be working fine.

Let’s walk through a few steps that may help get it printing again.

Steps to Resolve HP DeskJet 2852e Not Printing

1. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
  • Look for any blinking lights or error messages on the printer’s control panel.

2. Clear the Print Queue

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your printer > See what’s printing
  • Cancel all documents
  • Right-click again > Set as default printer

3. Check Ink and Paper

  • Ensure there’s enough ink and paper loaded.
  • Open the HP Smart app to check ink levels and printer status.

4. Print a Test Page

  • Press and hold the Information (i) button on the printer until a test page prints.
  • If the test page prints, the issue may be with the software or connection.

5. Reinstall the Printer Driver

6. Try Printing from Another App

  • If the issue is specific to one program (like Microsoft Office), try printing from Notepad or a browser to rule out software-specific issues.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, I can help you reset the printer or check for firmware updates. Just let me know what you'd prefer.
