Hi @Turtle17 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer is not turning on after being unplugged, the issue might be related to power supply problems or internal hardware failure. Here's how you can troubleshoot:

1. Check the Power Supply

  • Ensure Proper Connection:
    • Verify that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.
    • Use a direct wall outlet instead of a power strip or surge protector.
  • Inspect the Power Cord:
    • Look for visible damage to the cord or plug.
    • If you have another compatible power cord, test with it.
  • Try a Different Outlet:
    • Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out an outlet issue.

2. Perform a Reset

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes to allow residual power to drain.
  • Reconnect the power cord and press the power button to see if the printer turns on.

3. Inspect the Power Module

  • If your printer uses an external power module (brick), ensure it is not damaged and that the LED on the module (if present) is lit.

4. Check for Internal Issues

  • If the printer remains unresponsive, there may be an internal hardware failure.
  • Inspect the printer for any signs of physical damage or burning smells near the power port.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
