HP 8620, will not print simply because it is out of warranty.  Network printer, Mac OS 14.  How to make it operable again?

If printers stopped printing just for lack of Warranty, there would be dead printers all over the planet a year after they were purchased.  Well, partly true - top-tier products can come with longer warranties, perhaps two or so years.

In the case of this printer, it's old.

The user manual is always a good place to start -- If naught else, you can check whether there is mention of the type of issue you are having.  For example, there are entire chapters on connecting the printer, fax, and other important topics.  Too, take a look at the other topics in the category -- Setup & User Guides 

Once you have some idea of what is going on, or can at least describe the types of symptoms included in "will not print", come back and ask again.
